Entry into Qatar is currently only permitted for Qatari nationals, the children and spouses of Qatari citizens and holders of a permanent residence permit in the State of Qatar. These individuals can return to Qatar, but must:

  • Self-quarantine for 14 days

  • Notify the embassies of the State of Qatar in the countries from which they are returning at least 72 hours in advance

General recommendations for personal hygiene, wearing a face mask, and keeping a distance of at least 1 meter from other individuals in public spaces remain essential for all especially when leaving home or walking in public spaces in Qatar.

These include:

  • Wearing a face mask in public spaces is mandatory effective May 17th, 2020

  • Clean hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand rub

  • Cover your nose and mouth with your elbow or a paper tissue when coughing or sneezing, dispose of the tissue in a waste container

  • Refrain from touching your mouth and nose

  • When wearing a mask follow best practices on how to wear, remove and dispose of it

  • Maintain a distance of at least one meter from personsin public spaces;

  • Avoid crowded places and social gatherings

  • Elderly people and people with chronic health conditions should avoid going out unless absolutely necessary
